There are many reasons to pay attention to the energy efficiency of your organization/company. From a global point of view, it helps in the necessary, urgent reduction of greenhouse gas emissions; from the legislative one, it helps compliance with the law (eg. with the amendments of Law No. 28/2021 to LAW NO. 124/2015), European directives and world conventions.

Biomass fuels, especially biofuels, are being demanded more and more all over the world. At the same time, the natural landscapes and biological diversity of the ecosphere must be preserved.
The main standards in the field of sustainable biofuels are ISCC EU and REDcert2. The ISCC-PLUS and REDcert2 standards apply the same principles and can be applied in all other areas of the circular economy.

Due to the great need for energy in developing countries (China, India, ...), all sources, however small, available of fossil fuels have become expensive and the value of the fuel has increased.
In addition, their use creates environmental pollution and the Greenhouse effect. The problem of energy is highlighted especially in Industry, being a big consumer of it.
In order to reduce energy costs, but also to protect the environment, continuous improvement of the Energy Management System is one of the factors for successful business development.
This is the purpose of ISO 50001:2018, which supports companies and other organizations in developing systems and processes to increase the efficiency of energy use.

By defining and implementing the organization's energy management system, the following is done:
• Defining the "Energy Policy" and informing employees;
• Appointment of Energy Managers/Representatives of the interests of the Energy Company;
• Identification and assessment of the impact on the important areas of energy consumption;
• Creation of a database for efficient monitoring of energy consumption;
• Determination and continuous monitoring of energy consumption;
• Energy Management System (EnMS) continuously monitored and improved in the essential processes for determining energy consumption;
• Periodic evaluation (at least every year) of the effectiveness of the Energy Management System.

In addition, by optimizing energy consumption, CO2 emissions are also reduced, as is the awareness of employees about the importance of protecting the environment. Against the backdrop of climate change and decarbonization, systems that promote the sustainability of raw materials used in industrial production and processing are increasingly important. For this reason, the European Union has approved the RED I 2009/28/EC Directive in 2011 and the more restrictive RED II 2018/2001 Directive.

The Albanian law which is under approval (2023) sets a limit of 5% of Biofuel content in Hydrocarbons. Until 2025, the Biofuel content limit will be at least 10%. Until 2030, the lower limit will be, like the EU, 14% Biofuel in hydrocarbons for transport, and with the highest content of all hydrocarbons on the market.
The certificate for sustainable biomass is an effective and reliable instrument to ensure and prove compliance with the requirements of the EU Directive and Albanian Laws.
※ ISCC PLUS
ISCC PLUS is a scheme established by ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification), and covers food for humans / animals and applications for technical and chemical products.
ISCC-PLUS and REDcert2 certification make it possible to fulfill the requirements for environmental sustainability. Raw materials and products with sustainability certification can achieve higher prices in the market.
The standards guarantee environmental sustainability in the plastics industry and the chemical and technical industries.

The certification identifies the company as a vanguard in this sector, giving it prestige, as according to EU communications on the subject of plastics, this certification will be mandatory in the future. This can be used worldwide to demonstrate the sustainable use of biomass and/or recycling from packaging waste in the chemical industry and also in different industrial sectors.
Substitution of fossil-based raw materials helps to protect the environment and energy efficiency.
ISCC PLUS also considers environmental sustainability at all stages of supply and production chains in the food industry.
