Controls dedicated to food safety are designed to increase the trust of consumers of state/private structures that offer food services/products. Their objective is to offer improved performance and security by reducing the risks of threats in the stages along the supply chain; production and logistics of the food product.

※ HACCP

HACCP (Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points), often called 'Hasap' in Albania, is a well-known international methodology, a "tool", which for more than 60 years, is used in a systematic way to prevent or to reduce risk in the food sector.

The value of the HACCP system is the pro-active point of view through which the company determines and analyzes all possible risks that can be expected in the process of product preparation.

The HACCP system defines critical control points and establishes effective measures for the prevention and correction of risks.

The assessment of the level of compliance with the standards by the Accredited Independent Organization is the only known method that checks the conformity of the system applied in the company with the requirements of the World Standard of HACCP (published on the web-site of FAO GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF FOOD HYGIENE CXC 1-1969 Adopted in 1969. Amended in 1999. Revised in 1997, 2003, 2020).

The Company's certificate gives the consumer the assurance of the effort to meet the standards.

HACCP requirements can be applied in any part of the food chain, from production and primary processing to the point of consumption.

The principles of the HACCP system, as one of the most effective systems at the international level, have been applied in all standards related to food, as well as in the legislation of specific countries.

They are part of the European Directives and the Albanian Food Legislation.

The use of the HACCP Standard is mandatory for all operators in the food industry in MBUMK Instruction no. 20, dated 25.11.2010 based on Law no. 9863, dated 28.1.2008 "On food"

HACCP Certified by TÜV NORD GROUP is accredited and this gives official value to the certificate, compared to the relative value of a Non-accredited Certificate.

※ ISO 22000

ISO 22000 was published by the International Association for Standardization (ISO), to create a practical framework for food safety by harmonizing the requirements of different standards, in a single, globally accepted one.

It defines the requirements for the food safety management system where the organization must demonstrate the ability to control food risks in a way that assures third parties at the time of consumption/purchase.

The standard encourages the adoption of a point-of-view of the organization on the processes, and emphasizes the need to clarify the responsibilities and control measures for all participants in the food chain. This standard requires the fulfillment of requirements for the creation of effective communication between producers, suppliers and consumers; as well as other requirements for the verification of control measures, the continuous review of the efficiency and effectiveness of the system, of the HACCP system, combining with the use of advance planning.

ISO 22000 is intended for all companies involved in the food chain (from food manufacturers, producers of raw materials to final consumers, as well as manufacturers of products that are in contact with food and additives) which, potentially, can cause food contamination.

The standard is written in a general way for all companies, but it contains all the requirements of a high level standard of food production/service.

Our work group enjoys a long experience with the ISO 22000 standard. Send your request for an Accredited Certification by TÜV NORD GROUP.

※ IFS

International Featured Standard (IFS)

The influence of foreign distribution companies in food production and food trade, as well as their specific requirements, are known to all their suppliers.

The concern of companies regarding the "brand" of products is constantly increasing.

Brand owners are legally responsible for the accuracy and quality of the product. Therefore, large distribution companies and Super-Hyper Markets demand from their suppliers not only the fulfillment of the laws and regulations of the country where the product is currently manufactured, but also the implementation of the strictest requirements of international standards as well as the relevant Certification for each Standard.

The "International Featured Standard" or the IFS standard, originally compiled in Germany and further accepted globally as the standard of the best EU "Markets" (Carrefour, REWE, Lidl, deSpar, Conad, COOP, etc.), is mandatory for products of companies that want to sell in EU supermarkets.

It is today one of the most popular standards for the food sector.

A Certificate given as conformity of the product's compliance with the requirements of these standards in Distribution and Trading Companies, proves the high level of quality and safety.

Anyone in Albania, engaged in the activity of food trading and its distribution through Markets, can benefit from a visit to see the application of the IFS standard and aim for an expansion in the market beyond the borders. Contact for more!

※ FSSC 22000

System of Food Safety.

FSSC is the most accessible of the GFSI high standards.

One of the main objectives of the implementation of this certification scheme, is the acceptance of ISO 22000 certification in food products that want to enter the trading chains of Super-Markets, which require the application of this standard, until recently opposed on the grounds that it is unclear. and not complete for their activity. This has been achieved by adding some specific requirements to ISO 22000.

The main purpose of the FSSC is to determine the requirements of the PRP (pre-requisite point) which are necessary to control the possible risks. The new scheme of the Food Safety System Certification includes the implementation of the requirements of ISO 22000, ISO 22003, the implementation of additional requirements through the Document PAS 220:2008, defined by the British Standards Institute (BSI), and the requirements defined by the GFSI associations.

The acceptance of the FSSC scheme by the GFSI association is a big plus for those companies that have already implemented the requirements of ISO 22000, as well as for those who intend to implement these requirements.

This conclusion is supported by the fact that the Association of the Global Initiative for Food Safety (Global Food Safety - GFS), composed of leading wholesale and retail companies, as well as the largest international suppliers, supports the Certification schemes known as VJ, Food Standard (International Featured Standard) and to a lesser extent the British Consortium - Global Food Standard - BRC.

The FSSC 22000 scheme is one of the six Certification schemes recognized by the International Trade Association and Raw Material Suppliers GFSI.

This certification scheme aims to certify all companies involved in the processing or production of:

- Animal products (except slaughterhouses),

- Short-term products (which grow over time),

- Plant products with a long term (additives, Vitamins, Cereals and other food additives).

Existing companies certified according to ISO 22000 that belong to processing and the food chain, will only have to attach to the current processes that they have, an addition made up of the requirements defined in the FSSC 22000 system.

In relation to the above, with the aim of harmonizing these requirements with food producers in Albania, and with applicable requirements within the EU, market and supermarket companies have started intensive checks on suppliers with the audit side, the so-called "control as a second-party" (2nd Party Audit - TÜV NORD Assessment).

The purpose of this type of audit is to determine the level of quality and health safety of food products, but also to simultaneously evaluate the abilities and possibilities of the supplier of food products to fulfill all market demands.

Part of this certification scheme is the certification of food product packaging with FSSC 22000.

FSSC 22000 certification is also possible in Albania through the services we offer. Contact for more information.

※ BRC

BRC is a Global Food Standard that is part of the GFSI standards.

The "BRC - Global Food Standard" is one of the most well-known international instruments, through which actors in the food chain choose their suppliers.

The body that represents the largest British retailers, the "British Retail Consortium" (BRC), has developed a technical standard to help retailers fulfill their legal obligations and protect the consumer, providing a common basis for the verification of all companies.

This way, the sellers are guaranteed by the brand of the products.

The majority of British sellers have decided that Certification according to BRC requirements is a condition to be included in the list of its suppliers.

The main objective of BRC is to guarantee the safety, legality and quality of products with a private brand, by establishing a systematic control in raw materials; semi-finished products; production and resource environments; as well as the resources that interact in these processes.

The content of the BRC Standard is a Standard integrated with the latest food law updates (such as allergens and traceability), which requires:

- approval of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points);

- an effective and documented quality management;

- production, product, process and personnel control;

- assessment levels, from basic to advanced level;

The surveillance cycle depends on the product category and the classification system (basic or high level). The evaluation results go from: satisfactory to unsatisfactory;

Advantages:

- Protecting the image of your entity that puts products on the market.

- This Certification places the manufacturer and the supplier in front of the common demands on the quality.

- Ensures consumer expectations and health protection.

The standard can be integrated with specific requirements according to each company. It has common elements with quality management systems according to ISO 9001 and HACCP. Ensures compliance with legislative norms in the food industry. The validity period of the Certificate is 12/06 months, and depends on the audit result (as indicated by the BRC standard).

Among the few Entities able to Audit and Certify under the BRC standard, accredited, is TÜV NORD GROUP.

You can contact us without hesitation for more information.

※ GLOBALG.A.P.

GLOBALG.A.P. CoC is the standard that identifies the status of your product throughout the process, from the farm to the retailer. Certification according to this standard is a visible sign of responsible production, which respects ecology and the environment.

The standard covers Plants, Farm Animals and Aquaculture and is recognized at the farm level by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

Strict requirements for the proper handling and separation of certified and non-certified products at all levels of the supply chain provide consumers with transparency and security.

This Certification protocol provides the management of requests such as:

- Aspects of the environment;

- The product (pesticides, technical aspects, irrigation, plant protection, method of harvesting/gathering, post-harvest treatments);

- Animal health;

- Health and safety of employees and working conditions;

- Elements of Company Management;

TÜV NORD CERT provides certification for GLOBALG.A.P. CoC standard for:

1- Fruits and vegetables
